The opportunity to learn and develop outside of the classroom is one of the main benefits of school camps for students. A young student’s first school camp is a significant experience that is frequently recalled with affection in later years. I can attest to the fact that these experiences have a lasting effect on our lives because I have been to a primary school camp.
I’ll never forget the three-day trip my primary school organised for us to a nearby nature reserve. The thought of spending three full days away from home and my family as a young student was unsettling. Although the thought of scaling down a cliff terrified me, I was able to succeed in the challenge with the help of my friends and teachers.
I learned important lessons from the experience about resilience, perseverance, and the value of teamwork. I gained the self-assurance I needed to take on novel tasks and venture outside of my comfort zone. I have found these abilities to be extremely helpful throughout my life, and I still use them today.
